Oct. 18, 2009 - The
beautiful and exclusive Waldolf Astoria hotel was the back drop of a
historic meeting on Oct.15th. Representatives of SITRAC meet with US Track
& Field CEO Doug Logan to discuss merging visions for the sport.
Logan,
in office for just over one year has a background in US professional soccer
and in the entertainment industry. He brings a new perspective to the sport
that is much needed.
SITRAC
discussed it's history and goals and where the project is right now.
SITRAC's vision of triathlons, professional track & field, bicycle
racing and grass roots track & field programs were also discussed.
Logan
stated "it's an exciting program. US T & F will do anything we can
to assist you with this facility"
Logan
also talked about the upcoming 2010-2011 dual meets (home and away) against
Jamaica which will just feature 5-6 events and will have a team score. The
concept will also feature bleachers on the infield of the track to give fans
the feeling of being "in the meet"
With
the Ocean Breeze facility ground-breaking just a short time away the
meeting was the beginning of a great relationship between SITRAC and US
Track & Field.
