Island Youngsters Shine in Sunshine State

The 13^th annual AAU National Club Championships are over, and it was a glorious week for several up-and-coming Island future stars. 

The Island athletes represented the CYO New York team, and came away with many fine performances at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando. 

Brianne Garcia won the sub-youth girl’s discus with a 63-1 toss. 

Kaitlyn Karteron threw 62-8 for fifth in the youth discus. 

Other top ten finishes by Islanders included an 8^th-place for John Rinaudo in the midget boy’s discus (61-11), and a 10^th in the shot put (29-3.25). 

Michael Noone was 8^th in the sub-midget discus (53-2) and 8^th in the shot put
(25-10).
