Sunday October 16-Wolfs Pond Park, Staten Island, NY-The Island Express Track Club held it's first Cross Country Meet at Wolfs Pond Park today. If the success of it's first event is any indication, the happening is here to stay.
 
Featuring five races for different age groups ranging from 1 mile to 5Km. the beautiful park and great fall day created a wonderful atmosphere, especially for the young athletes.
 
Meet Director Robert "Little" Freeman said "The event was wildly successful. We got back nothing but positive feedback from everyone"
 
Mostly young athletes came to the event from all five boroughs. Some made it to Staten Island for the first time.
 
The event was sponsored by the Staten Island Athletic Club and was sanctioned by US Track & Field New York.
